Restaurant fined for exorbitantly-priced giant salamander

A restaurant in south China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has been fined 77,000 U.S. dollars for its exorbitantly-priced giant salamander.

The local government has also revoked its business and service licenses.

This comes about a week after a tourist revealed online that she was charged 770 U.S. dollars for a giant salamander weighing 1.65 kg in a restaurant in the popular tourist city of Guilin.
