Retail sales in the United States fell in August, ending the summer on a weak note. Data from the Commerce Department shows retail sales at more than 450 billion US dollars in August. That’s 0.3 percent lower than July and below analysts’ forecast of 0.1 percent. The August figure, however, is still 1.9 percent higher than the same month last year.
