Rio 2016: Brazil’s Neymar delivers winner in 5-4 shootout victory over Germany

Neymar scored the decisive spot kick as Brazil beat Germany 5-4 on penalties in Rio to win their first men’s Olympic football gold medal. The Barcelona forward had put Brazil in front in the 27th minute, only for the Germans to pull level through Max Meyer in the second half. There would be no more scoring until the shootout, but at 4-4, Germany’s Nils Petersen’s effort was saved. Nigeria secured the bronze medal with a 3-2 victory over Honduras.
