Rio 2016: Chinese ‘Sunny Boy’ swimmer wins 4th medal at Paralympics

China has extended its lead in the Rio Paralympics medal table, winning another 10 golds, 10 silvers and four bronzes, for a total of 183 medals. Swimmer Pan Shiyun took silver in the men’s 400-meter freestyle S7, bringing his Rio total to two golds and two silvers. An accident with a high-voltage wire cost Pan his right arm when he was 11. His love for the water led him to learn how to swim in a river near his countryside home. He might have drowned, but he kept at it. The “Sunny Boy” is known for smiling in the face of difficulties.
