Rio inaugurates Olympic Boulevard for live events and fans festivities during Games

Rio de Janeiro on July 20 inaugurates the Olympic Boulevard for hosting live events and fans festivities during the Olympic and Paralymic Games from August to September.

“Since this area will be the stage for sports competitions in 2016, we studied other options and also increased the number of venues. This project’s goal is to unite Rio’s local people and the Olympic spirits in a big communion.”

The project is a Rio City Hall endeavor to integrate the city with the Games.
It will broadcast the main sports events and offer many activities for the locals and tourists.

The Olympic Boulevard will be free and open from 09:00 am to around 10:00 pm every day.
It has two venues, one in Porto Maravilha, almost three kilometers in extension, and the other in Parque Madureira in northern Rio.
