Rousseff: ‘Impeachment threatens Brazil’s democracy’

Suspended Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff has addressed the nation after the Senate voted to put her on an impeachment trial. She condemned the impeachment process as a coup and a farce. Rousseff said she committed only errors instead of any impeachable crimes, as the government has repaid all debts to state-run banks. She said the impeachment process threatens Brazil’s democracy and social advances in recent years and vowed to fight the impeachment by all legal means.
