A gigantic apple pie was baked and served right in the heart of Moscow, on Tverskaya Square, as part of the Moscow Summer festival on Wednesday. It was also part of the celebrations for the Saviour of the Apple which is a Feast Day in the Russian Orthodox calendar. It took reportedly 100 kilograms (220 lbs) of apples, 100 kilograms (220 lbs) of flour and 200 eggs to make, eventually enabling hundreds of people to dine on the pie.
