Russia and Turkey on a collision course

Since the downing of a Russian warplane, tensions between Russia and Turkey are still on the rise. Moscow this week claimed to have evidence showing Turkey’s leadership collaborating with ISIL and profiting from illicit oil deals with the terrorist group. Turkey doubled down, with President Erdogan denying everything and even pledging to resign if the allegations could be proven. The ongoing clash is further complicating the situation in the Middle East and the search for a solution. Former Turkish Ambassador Selim Karaosmanoglu, Victoria Panova from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, and former NATO ambassador Kurt Volker help us understand what’s at stake, and whether there’s any truth in Russia’s allegations.
