Russia defuses 1,500 mines in ancient Syrian city

Russian forces have helped remove over 1,500 mines in Palmyra, less than two weeks after the Syrian army regained control of the ancient city, which was overrun by ISIL in May last year. Moscow says it will employ sniffer dogs and remotely-controlled de-mining robots to clear the most dangerous areas.
