Russia launches new space port despite corruption allegations

Russia successfully launched the first rocket from its new space facility after a last-minute delay. The Soyuz 2.1, a booster, blasted off from the Vostochny Cosmodrome in the early hours Moscow time on Thursday. While the launch is good news, its inauguration has been delayed by a year. Russian President Vladimir Putin says he will punish those responsible for the delay.
