Russia lifts ban on charter flights to Turkey, airlines start submitting requests

Russia lifted its ban on charter flights to Turkey on Sunday, ending an eight-month-long ban. A number of Russian airlines have begun to submit applications to transport authorities to resume flights. Russia banned charter flights to Turkey after the shooting down of a Russian air force jet by Turkey’s military last November. Relations have improved since Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan apologized for the incident.
