A Russian official said Saturday that Russia had notified the United States of the airstrikes in Syria in advance.
Lt. Gen. Andrey Kartapolov of the Russian General Staff said the U.S. military attache to Iraq was the first to be informed by Russia’s representative in Baghdad Wednesday morning.
Russia started airstrikes in Syria on Wednesday.
Kartapolov said that after three days of air raid against the IS in Syria, around 600 terrorists have fled to Europe.
He said Russia is ready to cooperate with all interested countries on combating terrorists in Syria.
