That’s according to Russia’s defense minister on Wednesday.
Sergei Shoigu told Russian media the pilot is already back at the Russian base in Syria.
A Russian Su-24 warplane was shot down by Turkey on Tuesday.
The plane was flying missions against IS militants.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has condemned the shootdown as a “stab in the back.”
Yet Turkey argues the jet had violated its airspace.
