Russia says talks aim to extend Syrian lull in fighting to Aleppo

The United States has said stopping the bloodshed in Aleppo is a top priority. The city has been at the center of an escalation of violence that has all but destroyed a wider ceasefire deal and broken up peace talks in Geneva.
