Russian destroyer Bystry joins navy drill with Indonesia in Jakarta

On Tuesday, Russian and Indonesian navies held joint maneuvering and communication exercises in Jakarta’s Tanjung Priok Harbor.

The anti-surface destroyer Bystry, which means ‘fastest’ in Russian, has just returned from the Indian Ocean where it participated along with some other Russian navy ships in regular naval exercises.

As two members of the East Asian Summit organization, or EAS, Russia will also participate in the Komodo multilateral naval exercise hosted by Indonesia next year.
