Two senior Russian politicians have suggested the US military buildup in South Korea is intended to provoke the DPRK. The deputy chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on International Affairs, Leonid Kalashnikov, said the latest missile launch by the DPRK was in response to the US military deployment in South Korea. And the deputy chairman of the Council of the Federation Committee on International Affairs, Andrey Klimov, argued that the US will be the only country to gain from a confrontation on the Korean Peninsula. He said the US military buildup in Japan and South Korea was meant to provoke the DPRK.
