Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry discussed via phone on Saturday about orchestrating a political process between the Syrian government and its opponents.
Lavrov said Russia was willing to back the Free Syrian Army in its fighting against the Islamic State.
But the Russian foreign minister complained about the proposed orchestration by saying the U.S. had refused to inform on the locations of terrorists as well as rebels. Lavrov considered it a “big mistake” for U.S. not to coordinate in their anti-terrorist campaign in Syria.
Hundreds of thousands have died in Syrian conflicts which broke out in 2011, and which triggered the refugee crisis.
