A Russian official is calling for the adoption of universal security standards in a bid to better fight terrorism.
The Deputy head of the Social Policy Committee at the Federation Council told CNC that security breaches are largely to blame for terrorist attacks.
Chernyshev’s comments came as Russian airliner crashed last month killing all 224 people aboard.
The crash was confirmed to a the result of a terrorist attack.
He also called on the international community to strengthen efforts to prevent future acts of terrorism.
