Russian President Putin names new Foreign Intelligence Service head

Russian President Vladimir Putin has appointed former parliament speaker Sergey Naryshkin as head of the Foreign Intelligence Service. He will replace Mikhail Fradkov, who retires on October 5. Naryshkin had served as chief-of-staff for the Presidential Executive Office from 2008 to 2011.
