Russian strikes boosts a Putin craze in Mideast

Russian airstrikes against jihadi groups in Syria have been a boost to the government’s army.
And that has led to a craze for Russian president Vladimir Putin in Middle East.
To show their gratitude to Moscow, hundreds of Syrians gathered outside the Russian embassy in Damascus on Tuesday.
They were holding photos of Putin as well as the Russian flag.
The placards read “Yes to Russian-Syrian cooperation,” and “thank you Russia, thank you Russia.”
Russia’s Syria intervention is also welcomed in Egypt.
TV anchor Ahmed Mousa praised Russia’s involvement.
He said it is Russia, not the United States, that is truly fighting terrorism in Syria.
A British newspaper, the Daily Express, reported that Putin’s images have started appearing on cars and billboards in Syria and Iraq.
