Russia’s new missile RS-28 Sarmat ready for field trials soon

Russia’s news network Zvezda is reporting that the country’s new intercontinental ballistic missile will be ready for field trials this summer. The RS-28 Sarmat, dubbed Satan 2 by NATO, has been widely reported to have a top speed of seven kilometers a second, and an expected range of nearly 10,000 kilometers. According to the Daily Mail, the Russian Defense Ministry plans to put the Sarmat into service in late 2018, and remove the last SS-18 missile by 2020.
