Russia’s straining ties with the West over Syria

Russia’s ties with Western countries have been worsening since the collapse of a ceasefire in Syria led to bitter exchanges between Moscow and Washington. In the latest developments, Russia vetoed a UN resolution drafted by France, which proposed an end to airstrikes on Aleppo. Putin also canceled a scheduled trip to France.
