Samaritans take part in attempted rescue of two boys from Yangtze

Members of the public leapt into the Yangtze River in Yichang city, central China’s Hubei Province, on Wednesday afternoon to try to save two young boys who had fallen in. The Good Samaritans helped maritime staffers pluck the near-lifeless boys of around 13 from the water and send them to hospital. One boy is reportedly in a stable condition, but the other failed to respond to emergency treatment and was pronounced dead.
