Schools suspended after Typhoon Nida hits S China’s Guangzhou

Typhoon Nida, the strongest storm to hit the Pearl River Delta since 1983, battered south China’s Guangdong Province. Power shortages have affected 10,000 residents, while students in the provincial capital, Guangzhou, have been forced to stay at home. In Hong Kong, rail services have been suspended and hundreds of flights cancelled.
