Sectarian strife: Middle East divided over Iran-Saudi row

A war of words over the execution of a Shiite cleric has led to the severing of diplomatic ties between Saudi Arabia and Iran. Shiite- and Sunni-majority countries are already following suit, with shows of solidarity with either side. Have long-simmering sectarian tensions finally come into the forefront? And will this undermine hopes for peace in the Middle East? He Wenping from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Al-Faisal University’s Khaled Batarfi, and Mohammad Marandi from the University of Tehran join us for a debate on the future of the region.
