September 18 Incident: China pays tribute to victims of 1931 Japanese invasion

China is marking the 85th anniversary of the September 18 Incident, which is seen as a pretext for the Japanese invasion of northeastern China in 1931, and remains etched in the minds of the Chinese people. A memorial ceremony was held Sunday morning in the city of Shenyang, which was then called Mukden.
