Set up a judicial enquiry in Pankaja Munde case: Ajay Maken

Congress today escalated their attack against Maharashtra’s Minister for Women and Children Development Pankaja Munde, demanding that a judicial enquiry be set up in the ₹200 crore scam. “We demand that a judicial enquiry be set up in the case, which should headed by a sitting High Court judge,” Congress leader Ajay Maken today said in a press conference. Pankaja Munde, daughter of the late Gopinath Munde, has been accused of flouting rules in a ₹206-crore purchase order. Congress leader Sachin Sawant has filed complaint with Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) office against Pankaja Munde that allotment of 24 contracts worth ₹206 crore have been sanctioned without following due procedure. Munde had allegedly cleared the purchase of several items for government-run schools for tribal children, without inviting tender, such as chikki, mats, dishes and books by flouting the rules, at a cost of ₹206 crore. The Maharashtra Government mandates that all purchases over ₹3 Lakh be done through an e-tendering system and the Chief Minister had banned purchases through the rate contract system.
