Shanghai expats celebrate Indian Holi Festival

The two-week Indian festival of Holi, also known as the “Festival of Colors”, sees people celebrating together to celebrate the beginning of spring. But there’s a spiritual element too, a time to end conflict and repair ruptured relationships. Holi is one of the major festivals in India and also attracts Shanghai expats from other countries. People smear colored powder on others’ faces and hug strangers. One of the expats said “it’s about expressing love, happiness, harmony and peace with different people.”
