Shenzhou-11 mission: Who are astronauts Jing Haipeng and Chen Dong?

Astronauts Jing Haipeng and Chen Dong will be spending 33 days in space for the Shenzhou-11 mission. Jing Haipeng is the commander of the mission. This is his third time in space after also joining the Shenzhou-7 mission in 2008 and Shenzhou-9 in 2012. Born in 1966, Jing was among China’s first group of candidates chosen for astronaut training in 1998. Chen Dong, a 38-year-old former fighter pilot, joined the astronaut training program in 2010.
