Signature Campaign Against Juvenile Release In Bangalore | Nirbhaya Rape Case

National Students Union of India (NSUI) members from Bangalore have started a signature campaign against the release of the juvenile convicted in the December 16 gang rape and murder case. “Irrespective of his age, the juveniles actions were brutal and hence, he should not be released,” said one of the signatories. In a dramatic post-midnight move on Saturday, the Delhi Commission for Women had approached the Supreme Court to stay release of the juvenile convict, who is now 21 years old and was known to be the most brutal of the attackers in the December 16 gang rape and murder case. A vacation bench comprising Justices A K Goel and U U Lalit in their order pronounced at 2 AM, posted the matter for hearing on Monday.
