Singapore is not expecting recession as there are still areas of strength: Heng Swee Keat

Singapore Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat said the government was not expecting a recession despite the country’s slowest gross domestic product (GDP) growth in a decade. He said there were areas of strength in the economy such as the information and communications and construction sectors even though GDP was up by just 0.1 per cent according to official flash estimates. He posted this on Facebook following the release of the second quarter GDP estimates on July 12.
