Singapore to invest in Australia’s military training facilities

Singapore will invest up to 1.7 billion US dollars over the next 25 years to increase capacity of its military training facilities in northern Australia. Over 6,000 Singaporean troops are trained each year in Australia and the figure will climb to 14,000 under the new deal. Turnbull also said the new agreement includes commitments to open markets and trade and increase collaboration in science and research.
