The Swiss-made Solar Impulse 2 has taken off from the US state of Oklahoma on Saturday, heading for Dayton, Ohio. The solar-powered plane landed in Tulsa International Airport last week and stayed there for eight days. The plane’s around-the-world voyage began in March last year in the United Arab Emirates, and has since stopped over in Oman, Myanmar, China and Japan. While flying across the Pacific it was forced to stop in Oahu, Hawaii, for more than nine months, after the plane’s battery system sustained heat damage.
