South Africa launches free universal HIV treatment program

Starting last Thursday, South Africa’s government is now providing free antiretroviral treatment for all people living with HIV. Previously, the free drugs were only available to patients in the more advanced stages of the virus. But under the new policy, millions of infected people will receive medication far earlier. CCTV’s Julie Scheier has the story.
