South China Sea: Arbitration and ruling questionable

A ruling was made earlier this month over the South China Sea territorial dispute by The Hague’s Permanent Court of Arbitration, by a panel consisting of five arbitrators. The arbitration – which was unilaterally initiated by the Philippines – and its subsequent ruling, have many points which raise more questions than answers. According to some international law experts, the award was also full of inaccuracies.
