South Korea will ‘take necessary measures’ against DPRK’s plutonium production

Japan’s Kyodo news agency reports that the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea has resumed the production of plutonium. In a written interview, the DPRK’s Atomic Energy Institute said it is also producing highly enriched uranium necessary for nuclear arms and power “as scheduled”. South Korea’s Foreign Ministry has responded to the report, saying that such activities are a clear violation of UN Security Council resolutions and the South will “take necessary measures”.
