South Koreans honor victims of Japan’s wartime sex slavery on Liberation Day

Monday marks the Liberation Day of South Korea, the day on which the Korean Peninsula was liberated from imperial Japanese colonial rule. A new bronze statue of a girl symbolizing South Korean victims of Japanese wartime sex slavery, was erected in Osan city in Gyeonggi Province one day ahead of the national holiday.
