Sri Lanka flood: China donates 50,000 US dollars

73 people are now confirmed dead in Sri Lanka as a result of landslides and flooding caused by torrential rainstorms. The heaviest downpours in a quarter of a century have pounded Sri Lanka since the weekend, with over 500,000 people affected. In the capital of Colombo alone some 200,000 people have been displaced. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has sent condolences to families affected by the disaster, and the Red Cross Society of China has donated 50,000 US dollars to support rebuilding efforts.
