Star Wars fever: Droids, Lightsabers and more

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” has hurtled into record books with US and Canadian ticket sales speeding toward 100 million US dollars in its opening weekend. The movie hit North American theaters with a vengeance Friday earning 57 million US dollars. It’s a new record that beats ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2’ which earned 43.5 million US dollars on its opening day. Analysts believe that Star Wars merchandise could generate upwards of 2 billion US dollars in sales this holiday season.
