China-Britain ties have now entered a new phase of sustained development, yet compared with six decades ago the situation is entirely different. In the 1950s, a group of 48 British businessmen, latter known as the “48 Group Club”, made a ground breaking trip to China, becoming the first Westerners to establish trade relations with the new China and made history at the same time. CCTVNEWS caught up with Stephen Perry, the son of Jack Perry one of the first “icebreakers” to talk about his father’s story with the CPC.
