The annual Straits Forum, a gathering for economic and cultural exchanges between the Chinese mainland and Taiwan, has kicked off on Saturday in Xiamen, southeast China’s Fujian Province. A new venue in Xiamen Subdistrict of Fujian Free-Trade Zone aiming to help young entrepreneurs across the Strait, has been the highlight of the event this year. Nearly 50 to 60 percent of investment funds will be reimbursed by the government to help stimulate the growth of startup companies inside the venue. Policies to attract talents are also being implemented.
