Studying glaciers in Tibet: 67-year-old professor with a 25-year-old transplanted heart

With the Paris conference about to get underway, climate change is on everybody’s mind. An important source of data for scientists studying the phenomenon comes from ice drilled from glaciers. One of the world’s top glaciologists, Professor Lonnie Thompson, has led many expeditions to various parts of the world. And he’s just conducted one of those expeditions in Tibet.
