The Supreme Court on Tuesday agreed to hear all petitions related to the Vyapam scam. A bench headed by chief justice H L Dattu agreed to give an urgent hearing and posted all petitions on the scam for July 9. Various people including activists, lawyers, politicians belonging to opposition parties, and whistleblower of the scam had approached the apex court for a CBI probe. They alleged that SIT, appointed by state government, is not conducting the probe in a proper manner. They said that more than 40 witnesses and accused in the case have died under mysterious circumstances. They said deaths of so many people raises suspicion that they are being killed to protect influential people involved in the scam. The court on Monday agreed to heal a petition challenging an order of MP high Court which had quashed FIR filed against the state governor. That petition would also be heard on July 9.
