“Switzerland is not a neutral country in the fight against terrorism. The neutrality of Switzerland lies in the non-interference in a war between any two countries. Switzerland is trying to take advantage of this neutrality effectively for the interest of peace. We signed a memorandum of understanding between the two countries to establish programs to combat terrorism.”

On the other hand, Bassil elaborated that Lebanon is committed to self-distancing policy towards the crisis in Syria.

He also noted that it is difficult to declare neutrality in the light of the ongoing conflicts in the region which affect Lebanon.
