The main Syrian opposition body, High Negotiations Committee, says it has not decided whether to attend the new Syria peace talks on March 10. A spokesperson said they are waiting for progress on the humanitarian issue and will respect for the ceasefire, but backers in Saudi Arabia still say President Bashar al-Assad must step down. The new round of talks will be the first since a truce between government forces and rebels began over a week ago. UN envoy Staffan de Mistura said Syrian peace talks are to resume on Thursday in Geneva, adding preparatory meetings will be held ahead of “in-depth discussions separately” with each faction.
