Syrian child cancer patients in desperate need of treatment

Before the war, public hospitals in Syria provided free medical care to all cancer patients. However, the Syrian government says now that EU and US sanctions on the country have made the work of public hospitals near impossible. Syria’s crumbling health sector has left hundreds of child cancer patients with little or no access to treatment. Thousands of children in Damascus alone are waiting for treatment, as the cost is multiplying beyond the ability of a war-torn country. CCTV’s Alaa Ebrahim reports from Damascus.
