After an advance northwards by the Syrian army in July, rebel-controlled eastern Aleppo was placed under siege, a siege that has now been broken. However, the army’s control of the northern part of the city remains in place. Aleppo used to be the country’s industrial heart, with the north of the city once a key zone for industry. But what has become of the area after 4 years of fighting? CCTV’s Xu Dezhi went there to find out.
