The Syrian government has said it will cooperate with a global chemical weapons watchdog over accusations Syrian forces have used poison gas on rebel-held areas. Damascus blames the chemical attacks on “terror groups and their foreign operatives”. Reuters reported that last month’s joint investigation by the UN and the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons found both Syrian government troops and ISIL militants using chemical weapons in the civil war. The Syrian army denied the accusations.
