Taiwan Election: First televised debate held

The three candidates for Taiwan’s 2016 leader’s election have participated in the first of a series of television debates. Eric Chu of the Kuomintang, Tsai Ing-wen of the opposition Democratic Progressive Party, as well as James Soong of the People First Party were each given three rounds of 10 minutes to state their policies.
