Taliban militants capture Khan Abad district in northern Afghanistan

Taliban militants have seized control of Khan Abad district in Afghanistan’s northern province of Kunduz. The district, which connects several northern provinces, was taken over by militants early on Saturday morning, with heavy fighting persisting in other districts. Afghan officials said a lack of ammunition and few reinforcements are the main reasons for the district’s fall.
